Carrabba's Italian Grill Review

If the soup is uninspired, my entree would be described as the polar opposite. I went with the wood grilled salmon with a side of Italian green beans. The salmon, made without the grill baste, came topped with a tomato basil vinaigrette that was downright tantalizing. Made with flavorful tomato, aromatic basil, and deliciously distinctive balsamic vinegar. The fish itself was cooked perfectly, easily sliced by a fork. The green beans, cooked with olive oil, featured […]

Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free Favorite Products: April

Spring has sprung here in Maryland, bringing with it the mad dash to the finish of my freshman year. While I’m enjoying the beautiful weather, and upcoming transition back to Florida, I’m not a big fan of the stress, studying, and other not-so-joys of an foreboding finals week ahead. Luckily, the better weather has allowed to get out and about more, and peruse grocery stores both in my neck of the woods and in […]

Spring Pesto Pasta Recipe (Gluten and Dairy Free)

Spring is in finally coming to Maryland, but not fast enough in my book! Despite the beautiful blooms on the trees and green everywhere, icy sleet this morning and chilly, whipping winds, brought my too-short springtime revelry to a halt.  Wanting comfort food to help me push through the next 20 or so days of my freshman year, I decided to indulge myself on my weekly grocery shopping trip and […]

Maggiano's Little Italy Review

When it comes to dining out, I often shy away from major chains in favor of local restaurants and cafes with a proven record of accommodating guests with dietary restrictions.  However, in keeping my finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the world of dining out gluten-free, I cannot ignore the buzz around some big chain restaurants. Maggiano’s Little Italy is one such restaurant with nation-wide presence that I have heard […]

Ejji Ramen Review (Belvedere Square)

Plunging head first into the semester, I have not had a moment to breathe, much less get off campus for fun in the first three weeks. As my workweek wound down leaving me with a wide-open and forcasted to be beautiful weekend, I knew that I’d have to remedy my cabin fever and escape for an hour or two. Fitting the bill for my Saturday adventure was Belvedere Square Market, […]

Gluten-Free Dorm Cooking: Thai Green Curry

Already slacking off my New Year’s resolution on the blogging front- sharing more recipes- I’m finally able to get back on board with it after a much-deserved three day weekend after my first week back in school. This semester, disillusioned with dining hall fare after a long winter break filled with home-cooked meals, I knew that I’d have to expand my dorm cooking repertoire beyond pizza and baking. Cold weather had […]

Noodle Charm Review

Having gone many months since my last encounter with Thai cuisine, I made a goal of seeking out my favorite dialect of Asian food this weekend as cooler temperatures called for comfort food. After considering the many Thai restaurants in and around the Baltimore area, I selected Noodle Charm as my intended destination as it is a sister restaurant to one I’ve already visited (Spice and Dice Thai) and nearby a bustling […]

Zia's Cafe and Juice Bar Review

When I made the decision to be a reverse snowbird of sorts- going north for the winter- I was warned by my fellow Floridians of the evils of snow and cold temperatures. Though I may be a Florida girl at heart, I’m no means a stranger to hard, cold winter as I spend four precious years of my childhood in the Buckeye state. The cold temperatures I was warned about […]

Prato Review

When it comes to fine, exotic, or out-of-the-norm dining options, Winter Park definitely covers a lot of ground as the city is home to many restaurants with varying cuisines and styles. Prato, located on scenic Park Avenue definitely has carved out it’s niche in the city and has earned top marks for their modern take on Italian cooking. Recently, they were commended by Orlando Magazine as the best Italian restaurant […]
